The By-law Services Officer I performs inspectional, and regulatory work in traffic control, road rights-of-way, and by-law enforcement of a varied nature under the general supervision of the By law Services Supervisor.  The work involves enforcement of various City of Kamloops regulatory by-laws and investigating complaints. 

The successful candidate will have:

1. Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
2. Justice Institute Level I By-Law Enforcement Certificate or equivalent.
3. Completion of post secondary computer courses in basic word processing and spreadsheet applications.
4. Occupational First Aid Level 1.
5. Driver's Licence - Class 5.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes and passes a criminal record check.

This unionized position pays $25.85 per hour.  The successful incumbent must be willing to work a variety of shifts.

The TSX stock exchange defines an index as a statistical measure of the state of the stock market, based on the performance of certain stocks. The performance of the index is typically viewed as a broad indicator of the direction of the economy. Originally known as the TSE 300 the composite index was created in 1977, with a base level of 1000 as of 1975.
