The City of Campbell River has an opportunity for a qualified GIS Technician within its Information Services Department.

The successful candidate ensures that GIS data and systems are kept current as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to GIS customers, performing a wide range of duties including map production and reporting, database administration and development, maintaining the GIS web service and supporting GIS applications.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold, at a minimum, a two (2) year post secondary technical diploma in a related discipline with a GIS focus.
  • Have, at a minimum, two (2) years applicable experience largely focused on GIS and software applications.
  • Possess and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license.

The rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $30.45 (2013 CUPE rate) per hour based on a 35-hour work week.
