Lethbridge Transit has an exciting career opportunity for a Transit professional who is looking for a new challenge in an organization that values work/life balance, champion’s employee development and offers exciting advancement opportunities. Lethbridge Transit operates a fleet of 43 conventional buses, 21 Access-A-Ride vehicles and 44 school buses.

The Customer Care and Administration Manager reports to the Transit Manager and is responsible for:

  • Managing  the dispatching of Transit and operators
  • Administering the Transit department Travel Training program
  • Customer service issues regarding bus stop amenities, customer concerns and commendations
  • Department KPI’s and GreenTRIP analysis and reporting, as well as, departmental statistical reporting
  • General and direct supervision of staff including absenteeism tracking, reporting, labour relations and contract negotiations
  • Supervising the accounts receivable and payable functions
  • Assisting in the development, monitoring and reporting on grants and special projects, as well as, providing financial monitoring reports and tools as required
  • Liaising with external departments and associations to develop and maintain partnerships
  • Provide support and rotational back-up to other members of the Transit Management team, including the Transit Manager
We are looking for candidates with the following desired qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in transportation planning, business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent and progressive experience relating to transit and specialized transit. Experience with school bus operations an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience and thorough understanding of dispatch operations
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and positive team environment
  • Proficient analytical and critical thinking skills to examine systems, emerging situation and develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent relationship building skills, particularly in an unionized setting
  • Effective communication and computer skills
  • Strong public relations & service skills
  • Membership in appropriate professional or business association
